The city of Amsterdam pioneered the coffee trade and was home to some of the first coffee houses in Europe. As tradition goes, these coffee drinking establishments were a favorite pastime of Amsterdammers until they turned the coffee houses into coffee shops…but that’s a whole different story. The Canal Coffee Co. celebrates Amsterdam’s heritage with an exceptional premium coffee roast inspired by the spirit of the city. Or simply put, straight out of the 'roast light district'.

CANAL ESPRESSO

A strong & dark delicious coffee, reflecting the sober character of the city. The beans are grown organically and purchased Fair Trade.

The fairtrade label guarantees that all coffee has been purchased for a fair minimum price from cooperations of farmers in developing countries, making a direct contribution to better living - and working conditions for the farmers. In organic farming, no chemical pesticides are used. This is not only good for people and environment, but also gives the beans in this blend a unique velvety finish. Good for the world and the taste!

Fair trade is an alternative approach to conventional trade based on a partnership between producers and traders, business and consumers. The international Fair-trade system - made up of Fair-trade International and its member organisations - represents the world's largest and most recognised fair trade system.
